VE Project 1 Alternate Idea
I was exploring several options for my first Processing Project in Virtual Entertainment. This was the other path I was exploring:
I’ll probably add some more info on how I did this soon.
Processing
In Virtual Entertainment this quarter, we are learning how to use the Processing programing language, which is designed specifically for creating interesting visuals ad generative art with code. Here are some of my very basic initial experiments:
EcoIsland

This was my project for Dynamic Persuasion Design last quarter. It is basically a “sim island” game where users can power an island using various renewable and non-renewable energy sources, and see the effects of their choices. I plan to continue modifying this project over the next quarter, so look for it to improve significantly. Also, Sinan helped.
Urbanus

This was my project from QTVR last quarter. It is a proof-of-concept for a social networking site in which users populate a virtual city, and can customize their rooms and tie them in to various other websites and services (lastfm and flickr).
Self Branding
In Career Skills class, we have been working on self-branding, by creating our business cards, resume, and portfolio site, all with a consistent visual style. I went with a fairly clean and simple style on everything.
Business Card:

Bioshock wins FWA
The Bioshock PS3 Site won an FWA today. Congrats to everyone at Rokkan on a 2nd consecutive FWA! It was an awesome project to be involved in, and it was great getting to work with such talented people.
Bioshock Site
The Bioshock PS3 Site that was my major project while interning at Rokkan this summer just launched. Check it out, but make sure you have a fast internet connection!
Stride wins FWA
The Stride Spit-It-Out Adventure Game won an FWA today. I’m sure this was largely due to the faster hooks I programmed into the video transitions.
